PUZZLINGS
Made with segments of photocopies printed with black carbon toner on white or neon colored paper and collaged onto vinyl or Tyvek paper. Some of the photocopies are shades of grey while others are printed from random materials placed on the glass of the copier, ranging from crumpled paper to a scrub brush. I use the enlargement and density features of the copy machine along with other techniques to affect the characteristics of the print. Images are cut and arranged intuitively until a figure emerges similar to how the magnetism of the machine pulls forth the carbon toner with the advent of light. They appear seamless from afar, but the layering is apparent with closer inspection. Photocopy fits into my "Symmetrical Procedures" practice, within the parameters of carbon mediums and symmetry.
